CARPDC’s main economic development activities include the development and updating of the Central Alabama Region Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) and managing of the Revolving Loan Fund (RLF).
CEDS The CEDS is a document that establishes the priorities and needs for a Region. The Alabama Association of Regional Councils was commissioned by the U.S. Economic Development Administration to conduct a CEDS process within their twelve districts. The outcome of these processes was 12 CEDS documents. These documents while separately representing their individual Regions combine to paint a picture of the entire state’s economic priorities and needs.

RLF The Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) program enables CARPDC, in collaboration with a private lender, to financially assist small and medium sized businesses in Autauga, Elmore and Montgomery Counties. The RLF is designed to make loans to businesses whose start-up and expansion will result in the creation or retention of permanent jobs and the enhancement of private sector investments.
